The Media Manager is a Windows NT based document management tool that is designed to automate the (post-) processing of word processor documents.
This flexibility allows you to tailor its configuration to meet your specific needs. More than 25 built-in commands offer complex functionality such as printing documents, sending E-mail with attachments, error recovery, and logging. You can extend the built-in functionality by creating your own commands to automate complex tasks and by using external programs.
Scalability allows you to spread your production process transparently over multiple servers as the workload grows, using the
LoadBalancer. This is designed to function as the post-processor in an Microsoft
Word based document production environment.
Within the Media Manager you can create Instances with Services. Every Service has an associated script. In such a service script you define a job. A job can for instance run a specific
document model, translate the result to PDF, print it and call a third party tool to archive it.
Requirements
Media Manager requires Windows NT 4.0 or a newer version of Windows NT, including Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Where Windows NT or NT is mentioned in the documentation this includes these newer NT versions. Where Windows 9x is mentioned, this includes Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows ME.
