ITP

OV2Word is a batch converter that converts IBM® OfficeVision®/400 RFT-DCA (OV/400) documents to Microsoft® Word® 97 (Word) documents. These documents can be used with Word 97, Word 2000, Word XP and any other word processor which can read Word 97 documents. OV2Word is also the ideal tool for users who are switching from OV/400 data/text merge to ITP®.

OV2Word is a Windows program, requiring Windows 98, NT or 2000, for batch conversion of IBM OfficeVision/400 RFT/DCA documents to Microsoft Word 97 format. OV2Word is developed with two goals in mind: visual resemblance and maintainability of your documents. It offers unprecedented flexibility in the conversion process of your documents.

Program Features

· With OV2Word you can test and configure your conversion process on a number of representative documents and then convert large sets of documents at once. The number of documents that can be converted at once is only limited by your PC's system resources.

· Creates an extensive log. The log displays which features could not be converted. Use this to optimize your conversion settings.

· Converts RFT/DCA as well as FFT/DCA documents.

Basic Layout Conversion

· Converts all basic layout features, like bold, italic, underline and tab settings.

· Attaches a configurable Word template to converted documents.

· Converts running headers.

· Converts cursor movements.

· Converts footnotes.

· Maps stopcodes to Word FILLIN form fields.

· Supports custom page and margin settings for the first page.

· ISupports all four column types.

· Converts .inc instructions to Word include fields or ITP __INC instructions.

· Converts .help instructions to Word bookmarks.

· Converts .gr instructions (graphic includes) to Word INCLUDEGRAPHIC\d" field(include image from disk).

· Converts table of contents instructions.

· Maps form fields (*FF instructions) to Word FILLIN form fields with the default value they had in Office Vision.

· Supports the 'Return to Master Format' instruction.

Configurable Conversion Features

· Specify your own font mappings.

· Specify a mapping for OV/400 paper bins to Word paper trays.

· Specify a language mapping.

· Specify your own mapping for OV/400 document attributes to Word document properties.

· ITP/O2O maps OV/400 symbols (from different codepages) to configurable Unicode symbols.

· Converts automatic numbering (.nl) to a configurable type of Word numbering.

· Force all years in date fields from the Office Vision document to print in CCYY format.

· Truncate content produced with the .RUN command if it exceeds the right margin.

· Override the font used to insert symbols in the result document.

ITP Support

Conversion maps data/text merge instructions to ITP instructions. .RUN commands will be mapped to an OV2Word user defined function. ITP is a data/text merge solution that is currently being used by more than 400 companies and organizations world-wide, with the client/server version being used by more than 14000 users. ITP is already used by many AS/400 customers as a better alternative to OV/400 data/text merge for more than 10 years. The functionality of ITP goes far beyond that of OV/400 data/text merge.
